Thread: is a db upgrade needed?

Hi Guys.

I am on my way to upgrade to v.4.1 from v 3.3
1. is it safe now(after the patch 1)?
2. i am running mysql 3.23.58 - do i really nned to upgrade or is it ok to run it with this version?

Some comments...

If you use the sql update file I posted (v4), please note it is has only been tested with v3.1 and v3.2 - v3.3 you may wish to use the original aeDating one in your private forum on their site (or the v1 posted here on MOD).

1> I think it is safe, but there are some annoying bugs - you can see some of them here in "Bugs"... If your site is free - perhaps it is ok - but if it is a pay site - there are some issues that need to be worked out with payment processing.

2> I think if you follow some of the suggestions here about removing the CAST from banners - it is ok.... there was one other issue reported I think somewhere - but I have not run into it yet myself.

I can see now all the bugs of payments.
I am using now FREE but will soon go to payments.
1. are those bugs solved or do we have them still?
2. do you recommend to upgrade my db to higher? if so to which one? will it run smoothly or should i expect problems?
