Thread: Anither "forbidden" error problem

Hi,
i'm totally new to mysql and php so forgive me if i sound such a nerd.
i have installed Apache as localhost. i have also installed mysql and php and finnaly got to a point where i can READ test files but i'm unable to display then because i get the following message
" FORBIDDEN ...You don't have permission to access /php/php-cgi.exe/test.php on this server."
Ive searched all the relavent sites fora solution and they all tell me that i need to change permission but seeing the i am logged into my machine as the administrator i'm at a loss as to what permissions i need to reset.
Can anyone help please......and please, feel free to answer me as a total nerd **smile**.

Well, from the sound of things you need to make it so that the files are readable by the webserver user. Such as if you are using apache it will typically be either www or wwwrun.
