Thread: Reporting Exploits

Exploits can be real - or they can be rumors, or based on fear or other factors.

If you think your site has been exploited - please PM me with what you think happened - and a place I can download your http server logs, before making them public. Or notify aeDating, and let them fix it (it's their job, really) - but please tell me also, so I can make sure it gets done in a timely manner.

In most cases, it was something else that was the cause of your problems.

It is doubtful, with a properly configured server, that any exploit in aeDating would result in your server being "rooted" (someone gaining root access), so your http server logs should be complete - and tell the true story of what happened.

So, please, when reporting exploits - first do it through a PM, supply the http server logs, and lets confirm it is reality - before we get people upset, scared, and otherwise crazy.

And always - keep true exploits a secret until either us, here at ModMySite, or aeDating, has a chance to release a fix, and notify all how to secure their site.
