Thread: Dolphin's Website?

What is going on with dolphin's website I can not access there forums or their website???

I donno... BoonEx is back up now.

We also had a problem on Monday June 11th on the ModMySite.Com server (our other servers were not affected though) ... and unfortunately, our server monitoring service, PingAbility.Com - let us down. While they claim they sent an SMS to us notifying us of the downtime - it was not received on our phone.

We used to run our own monitoring service, using Hobbit. We think we will switch back to Hobbit for monitoring our servers, as it provides more control and, by running our own Hobbit Monitor, the "buck stops with us", not some 3rd party.

When we get Hobbit back up, we are also open to using it to monitor ModMySite user's sites, if desired.

Hobbit is better than an online service such as pingability - as Hobbit monitors the server at the server level, including load, disc space, processes, ports, and so on. Online services such as pingability generally only monitor ports like HTTP, DNS, and so on.

Sometimes &!#* happens. That's all fine and dandy - as long as someone is notified. Too bad, this did not happen as planned with this most recent event and PingAbility. Gonna fix that though (run our own Hobbit Monitor again).

One again - not sure what was up with BoonEx's site.

We have switched back to our own monitoring since we found the others offered on the web to be sub-standard.

HTTP, SMTP, POP3, IMAP, DNS, SSH, TELNET, FTP, LOAD, MEMORY, PROCESSES, DISC SPACE, RAID STATUS (software or 3Ware based) is offered as standard.

LOAD, MEMORY, PROCESSES, DISC SPACE, RAID STATUS monitoring, which is just as, if not more important than, monitoring just ports, is a pretty unique feature on MonMySite. Very few monitoring services offer this depth of monitoring that MonMySite provides.

Other ports and services not listed above can be monitored as an option.
