    Default Remove Events Options

Hi there and thanks for being such a great resource in the absence of any
sort of resource over at Boonex/Unity

My problem is I am using Dolphin 6.1.4 as a social network framework.
My site is a bikers website and I wanted to offer my members a load more
functions, hence my purchase of Dolphin.

I am working my way through things very slowly but have got a little stuck on
    something.

    Events.

Basically I only want to have certain options show up when I want to add an event.
Either at admin level or member level.

The fields/options I want to retain are....

    Event Title
    Date of Event
    Start Time of Event
    Description of Event

I dont need any other information to display.

There are certain fields/options on the add event admin side of things that
appear to be mandatory like M/F Ticket price, etc.

Could someone advise me where to remove all the other options.

Thanks in advance and why boonex are so disorganised I do not know.
This site has been a real help so far
    Alex.

    Default You might try...

Editing all of the php files associated with events, like the events.php file, etc. Look at the templates as well. You may even want to start there first. If you can find the references to those items you don't want displayed, then by commenting them out or removing them if they exist is the templates may work for what you want to be able to do. You can find out which templates are used by looking at the top of the events.php file or any other files which the events module uses.

    Hope this helps
If at first you don't succeed, go to a forum and ask like hell. (Using Joomla 1.5.18, JomSocial 1.6.12, Fully Customized)

    Hi again and thanks bigal

I ended up modifying the /sdating_admin.php and removing the field sets that
    were not neccessary for me.
Also edited the /sdating.inc.php as well as the lang-en.php
There are still a few errors that I need to sort but I am getting there.
The events module seems to be quite a handy little piece of kit especially with the TinyMCE thingy to insert iframes with maps etc

I am warming to this dolphin
