.htaccess Friendly url Fixed Using Godaddy Hosting

What I Use :
Dolphin 6.x ,6.2 and 6.3 + FlashChat + PHPBBFF Not Using Ray On Godaddy Shared Hosting

Ive Seen a Few People having Problems using Godaddy shared hosting and decided to share how i Fixed the .htaaccess File to make Friendly Url's work.

Note: I Have the optinon in the admin Pannel Shut OFF

Here is the code:

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -d
RewriteRule .+ - [L]

RewriteRule ^([a-zA-z0-9]+)$ http://www.YourDomain.com/profile.php?ID=$1 [L,NC]

</IfModule>

I Have seen Many Posts on this But I Found that With my Godaddy account You Must Have The FULL Url.

After you apply this you must Refresh, and it is Cap's Senstive.
Example:

User profile: Glenn

It Must be the same: http://www.YourDomain.com/Glenn
NOT /glenn

I have tested and Found if it is Miss typed it will just say cannot find profile:

This Will work with the AutoLogin Mod also. But I had Problems When I Turned on the Friendly Url in the admin. My AutoLogin To My Chat and PHPBBFF Forum Board Did not Log me in, So I Shut it Off

And Now Everything Works!!

Oh If You Use PHPBBFF On Godaddy Also, PHPBBFF uses php5.x and Godaddy says there newest and Greatest is PHP4 , Here is To Fix This

In the Root PHPBB Folder use or create a new .htaccess File and This is the Code I used:

RewriteEngine on
RewriteRule ^google_sitemap.xml$ google_sitemap.php [L]
RewriteRule ^forum-([0-9]+).xml$ google_sitemap.php?fid=$1 [L]
AddHandler x-httpd-php5 .php

You Must Have This Done Before the script will install, or it will say you dont have a new enulf version of php.

Just To Let You Know Im NOT a great Programmer, Ive Just Asked Alot Of Questions!

Im working on a Video Dump, So Users can Just Upload Videos and it will Verrify the Format of file Before it Uploads, Then Admin may post them, On a New Video Gallery Page, I'm Using the NewsPage Mod and a media_player.js Mod i Found to make the Posting of video's easy. Im Just still having Problems with the Verify. If Anyone has Found Somthing for uploads that verrify the Format Please let me Know.

This mod works for aplus.net hosting as well.

to get it to work for me with the canned .htaccess, I had to alter my apache config.

AllowOveride None

change to:

AllowOveride All

This means that I have to really watch my setups of .htaccess, but it's only a test site currently anyhow.

apache was all set up when i got my hosting... Thatnk for adding that..

And here is a Nice Little Update, If you have not Found it yet,, But there is a Tutorial Some where on this site, That add's the URL to the members profile..
Just do a Search and You will find it..

Update: Nov 2008

Well I about had A Heart Attack Today,, The PhpBB2 Fully Modded Forum didnt auto log me in, And same with the Flash Chat. The Fix Was Easyer than i Thought. It was the cookies, They Expired. i had them set to be good for one year after you join the site. All it required was to login to the forum.

I guess i never thought of phpbb not to use the same cookie as dolphin.
Well ill put it this way, I Think its the cookie...

If anyone has anyideas of what could of happened and how to fix let me know. For now ill just post a bulliten on the home page letting members know to hit the Back button and login to the forum again.

Every thing in the database looks to be alright.

anyone Know how to mod The IM to Open the ShoutBox in place of the Ray/Orica. I like the Shout Box Style, Unless it would work better to use flash chat. I Just need a Very simple IM for Private chat. Ive looked at UserPlane but im wanting somthing more basic and free.
