    Default Search Function not working

    Hi
I just installed and getting prepared to launch a new site using 6.0.0004 RC and the search members function won't work.
I have another site running 6.0.0003 and the search members works fine.
In 6.0.0004 clicking on a search for a female (i'm the only member to search for) the page just reloads, or it goes to no results.

Wondering if anyone else has encountered this or knows of a fix for this.

    Thanks
    Jamilyn

I really recommend you do not launch a site based on a RC... if you do, once the FINAL comes out - you will be left in "no mans land" as it is an intermediate release.

As for your problem - we don't even bother loading RCs for testing - as they "live" for such a short time.

Thus, I don't even have an installed copy of 6.0.4RC to even test/try your bug.

    Hi Smoge
Thanks for the reply. I uploaded the new site with the RC version because if you go to download when beginning a new script that is the only link available to download, for me it was anyway. But...I most likely won't launch the site until the final release is out , I agree the RC may not be stable.

I fixed the problem. I had changed the "looking for" search criteria. Instead of just looking for male and female I had added fields and changed the way it searched. I restored it back to default and now my search function works fine.

I can say though that other than that problem I have had no issues with this version I am testing. One feature with it that I love is the admin option to change how many tabs are in your top menu. You can decide if you want one or two lines of links such as home, members etc. That comes in handy if you add more to your top menu. It keeps things clean.

    Thanks for the reply

    Hi, Jamilyn!
Could you please explain in details how you fixed this bug? I have the problem, when I'm trying to use the search page in Dolphin 6.0.0004. In spite of my poor English I'll try to describe the problem. So, I search for example "Male" searching for "all" - the string is like this "search_result.php?Sex=male&LookingFor=all&DateOfB irth_start=18&DateOfBirth_end=40"
The result is "No results found. Start again and try to broaden your search."
OK, but if I manually change the string "Sex=male&LookingFor" for "sex=male&LookingFor" - I have the results!!!

    So, could you help me?

I'm running Dolphin 6.04, and "search" does not work either. I, too, added a new "sex" field (only couples). I greatly (GREATLY) appreciate any and all help someone can give me on this. Here it the database error that came via email to me:

If you play with the sexes (genders) in Dolphin - you need to make php code changes (and some database changes) to support it properly.

If you need help with this , please open a ticket.
