Thread: Creating Test/Play area

Currently I have a folder called test on my server that is running my live site. I have GPLdate installed in there and it is attached to the live database. I use this to play around in and make changes and see how they affect the look of the site, rather then do any damage to my live site.

What are your thoughts on test areas? Should they be on a seperate server entirely? Seperate doman and database? Or am I ok by having it on my live site server?

my common sense would just say seperate database.. cause if u currupt the one u currently have.. your assed out!

Yes - different database, as mentioned - but you should also .htaccess this folder to limit access to it.
