Thread: Identical usernames

Hi,

This question is a bit of a hard one...

I recently endeavored to modify Dolphin in a way to let users subscribe with the same usernames (ex: 2 users could have the username sexymama69). Once this was done, I modified the login section to ask for email and password to login a little bit like facebook.

So, member ID is unique, email is unique and nickname is not...All this is pretty simple and straight forward to implement but I am weiry of the long term effects of this mod.

Does anyone know? Can payments or transactions be messing up, messages not going to the right person?

My guess is that the whole site is member "ID" driven so I should not have any problems.

yeah , i wanna know how to make members login with their email adress

users can already log in with their email address, try it instead of the user name.

Just change the username field to say email so users know.
