Thread: A way to resolve search problem

Hi!
If your site's search-quick search are not working, try to update your test user's profile with * areas.. if your join form is too short then this * areas may null so this user can not be found with search. I dont know how to add more fields to join form

Right... the short join form is sort of bad (the default one), as it leaves out some important information required for the search to work correctly.

Is there any way to move these required fields to the signup screen so the search will work properly if the user does not complete the other part of their profile?

yea - you can use the admin panel profile editor - but we normally use phpmyadmin for this (or some other SQL editor).

I think we (modmysite) or someone else needs to post some SQL updates to the default tables to handle this - so everyone can do it easily.
