Thread: IM notification

how can i disable the im notification altogether and have goold old im window itself pop up every time because notifications do not work:

1. when user is browsing forum, in my case which is orca

2. when user is in chat, interestingly, neither chat im notofication nor im window pop up there; now how the user would now there has been an instant message; the thing is when you are in chat, you are usually chatting, not browsing rest of the site where you can get im notifications

i am using 5.6.4

any help would be much apprecaited.

there is even more to that frustraing im notification, it keeps poping up despite clicking yes to 1st ever notification and the instant message window is opened!!!

there should be some way, please help
