Exclamation Removing Profile Type, Children, Body Type etc ?

    Hi,

iam using Dolphin 5.6 and i would like to remove these and some other useless Fields from the Script.

How can i do that without wrecking the SQL-Structure ?

I tried removing them via the red X in the Profile Fields Admin, but as soon i remove 1 field there i get an SQL Error saying "Cannot connect to Database" as soon i click on a Userprofile.

Well, mustnt even be removed, would already be enough if i could manage it to make these Fields invisible in Joinpage, Profilepage and Editpage.

How can i do this ?

    Thx for help.

    Regards,

    *Fax

Hi Fax: not sure why this didn't work for you. I've done it with Height etc, but some of the fields don't get a red X or an edit option, which makes it hard.

I still have a few fields that I want to change too. It's ODD that some fields Boonex doesn't let you remove or edit directly. I know it's historically for a dating site, but they're pushing it as a COMMUNITY now, so why not let me remove the question about Children?

    Cool re:

Okay, i found a way to make any useless Fields invisible from the Page and all Subpages !

Open your MySql Database with PHP MyAdmin, then click left on the Field "Profiles Desc" ..now you will see alot of Subs, there check the Field "Show on Page".Now click the Button "Display" or "Show" at the Bottom of the List.

Now you get displayed any Fields like Children, Body Type, Religion and any other Stuff you may need to edit.

Now you have to edit any Field you want to have "vanished" one after next.

    Sample:

Lets say you dont want to have the Field "Body Type" in your Project ...check the Field "Body Type", then click the "Edit" Pencil beside it ...now you get displayed any Values of the Field "Body Type" ...now you see there is one Section in it named "visible to", and there is marked as default Member and Admin ..now simply go and dishighlight the Member, so that only the Admin is left marked.

Then finally click OK below to save the Changes you just did to the Database.

Now guess what ? ....your done ! Reload your Website and you will see that there is no Body Type anymore all over the Place, except in your Dolphins Admin Panel.

And so you can do it with any Field you like to have away, without wrecking SQL Structures or something similiar worse.

    Cheerz !

In addition you may change field
    PHP Code:
    `visibleset('user','memb','adm'NOT NULL default 'user'

Yes - tha admin panel is fine for adding fields - but for making changes to them (hiding them, etc) phpmyadmin is much better.
