Since the start of ModMySite... about 6 years ago (using vBulletin, we used another application before that going back to 2003), we have never pruned our database of inactive users.

Today seemed to be a good day to do that... so of course, first I backed up the database....

Then I pruned all users who have not logged in in the last 750 days.... 2 years of not logging in seems to be a safe value... and we ended up removing 4742 users.

I also removed those who never bothered to confirm their email on joining (back 150 days).... that was 893 users.

This brings us down to 5018 members....

I'll wait a while - maybe I will clean it even tighter - but for now - it is an improvement.
