    Cool inbuilt auction house?

    Hello all

I wanted to have a service on my site that allows members to post items for sale that members can buy/sell. I would not mind members being able to bid on items, that would be good for the seller really....bit like ebay I guess.

The point would be for the sellers and buyers to be able to interact online without myself having to post the item on their behalf.

I understand very much buyer and seller star system should be inplace, to at least scare off fake bidders to a point!

Any one done this....anyone know if this is a massive project I should stay clear from? ..........it should be linked to the ae database too.

    Thanks

Cool auction link to ebay solution

    Hello all

I have since learned that you can have a link next to a site user's name (the member in our cases) that shows they have current auctions. Clicking the link will show the items they have on offer in your site design. The items would be listed and each would be a link that allow users to go to ebay directly and see the product. They then have to have an account on ebay but that would be their issue!

I think I have understood this correctly from http://developer.ebay.com/common/api

Anyone done this....Smoge do you know how to do this? lol!!!!!

your better off running your own auction script as ebay is getting too expensive in fees to make any money. Between Ebay and PayPal fees all your profits are lost.

I have been pretty impressed with - geodesicsolutions.com - auction script.

The problem with running your own auctions is traffic - you will have almost none on your own auction site.

With ebay - you will have more traffic - and the ability to perhaps make sales or get joins on your site - from your products on there.

But - correct - with ebay - there is a cost issue.

The question is - does the advantages outweigh the cost of being on Ebay?

Sure - if there is an API available - it should be pretty straightforward.
