    Default Reporting Members

    Hi

When a member reports another member for spamming using the 'report' feature, the admin receives a message.

But how does the admin tell that the report is genuine? What checks can the admin carry out before deleting the member.

Also, how do you handle banning members which are abusing/spamming other members? Do you delete their account?

    Thanks

We usually modify the "report" function so that the user needs to put in why he/she thinks it is spam, and also check a confirmation box, with the submit button, so that the report has more of a chance of being valid. And of course, there is a cancel button too.

Without above, users click the report function not knowing what is is, what it means - and generate a lot of false reports.
