Thread: Best way to upgrade 5.3

Going from dolphin 5.2 to 5.3

I have this in test now, and it appears to be working well so far. I totally love the new profile media player thing.

what is the best way to do an upgrade? Upload to a new folder and just update the new header.inc to point to the old databases? or replace all the old pages one by one? or a totally new install and then import the data from the old tables?

Not sure if you are upgrading a live site - but if you are - I highly recommend you wait a while for more information to come back on Dolphin v5.3

Is the upgrade from 5.2 to 5.3 considered "safe" yet for live sites? Has anyone successfully done the upgrade on an existing (with members) site?

I would wait another several days or a week or so - if you can.

And also - wait for us (Modmysite) or one of our users to post an upgrade script for the DB.

The "offical" BoonEx upgrade pack is here - if you will just be doing the DB - you will find the upgrade script in there also.

I need to upgrade a live 5.2 nulled site with minor graphic mods. Pardon my ignorance, but where exactly does one start with this process? Is there a help file or instructions anywhere?
