Thread: Reoccurring payment trial period

I have recurring payments setup for PayPal. They are monthly/6 month/yearly. I want to add in a 3 day trial. Does anyone know how I can add this in? What files should I look in? I was in the checkout/pre & post files, but wasn't sure what to edit.

How did you set these reoccurring payments up - in PayPal itself?

Or are you using some IPN code (since you are in v4.x)

I got some help from PayPal and also from AE Dating. If you need me to send you my code for you to take a look at, I can. I just want to add one more membership level, and cannot figure out how it needs to be added, and which particular file.

No - don't send the code - if you want us to work on it - we would just login to your server.

Reason I ask - if you will be doing Trials or reoccurring - you really need to use some sort of IPN method - so PayPal can notify your site of changes with the subscription.

Our PayPal IPN mod does this - not sure what you are running though.

We already receive notification from PayPal when someone subscribes or when there is activity such as a refund/cancellation. What else does your PayPal IPN do differently?

Not sure - as you are in Aedating 4.1 Patch 2, and you say "I got some help from PayPal and also from AE Dating" so it is impossible for me to know. This is perhaps a downside of using self-developed code for some things (code that others don't use too) as all development falls on your shoulders.

In fact - on 05-16-06 and later dates, you asked us many questions about our PayPal IPN mod - about 18 questions/answers between us - which we answered - but you decided not to purchase it from us.

I don't think we can do this one for "free" for you - you know how it goes - you scratch my back, I scratch yours. LOL!

I totally understand. How much do you think this sort of mod would run, as part of it might already be developed? What else does your mod do? Does it update AE Dating Admin for each purchased susbcription (say a person bought a yearly subscription - 365 days), does this automatically set their membership status to the yearly subscription or does it need to be done manually?
