Yes... this is quite a problem.. All this monitoring and feedback to ae is like you stated.. #$%$%...This should have been addressed some time ago. And everyone has the right to know what ae and their script are really doing behind our backs...
I'm with chainsmoker.. I paid for lifetime upgrades...not that I would ever use them and lifetime support... All this juggling dm's and company names is all just a cheap ploy to get more $$$.... And $50 for support.. There is NO ae support.. We ALL know this. If you were ever lucky enough to have ae fix anything you are blessed....

Well I can tell you that we have grep'd and santized everything....Just in case...
This, as far as I can tell, is not a prob with ...4.1.2....
(we have already removed : admin/index.php)
We have also eradicated all the hyperlinks to ae...
Although you cannot remove the license "statement" you can remove the "hyperlink" to the license agreement. This only benefits ae....

try this for a start...and this is just a start.....

grep -i -w aewebworks *

ae's link appears in every .php file. We all know this....but it can be removed..
(You can always dowloand all your .php files and sanitize them then upload them.)

Grep will not work. BASE 64 encoded. look for long strings in code. couple places. decode it. change it. put back in code uncoded. happyness.

oh ya - you want to null it for other reason - even if you have a license.

1) each page a user moves through site ya script checks with boonex to see if license - which slow it down.

2) if boonex site offline will be slow and show unregistered notice to your users.
