Delete or rename your ucp.php.

Just because your link takes them somewhere else to register anyone who know phpbb etc etc knows what files are there and can simply go to your http://www.yourdomain/forum/ucp.php and register.

Thanx Prometheus, I've looked in my files, I have modcp.php, groupcp.php, but I don't have ucp.php. How weird is that! Could they register using anything else? I'm using version 2.0.21 I really do appreciate your help with this.

That depends on which version of phpbb you are running.

I found it.
I had to download an old verision of phpbb

delete or rename your usercp_register.php.

It's in your includes folder

Yes I looked in there and saw that, but when I tried to follow the url via my site it was blank page aside from the words "hacking attempt". Anyways I've renamed it for the moment, so hopefully that will stop those nuisance signups.
