Default Suggestions for additional chat application support?

Does anyone have a fav chat application that they would like to have support added for aeDating? There are many choices, and if someone has a fav chat application, it would give us a good starting point.

    Any suggestions?

As you know, aeDating already has support for FlashChat, UserPlane, and phpMyChat.

If there are no suggestions, I'm going to start with Voodoo Chat, which is a powerful daemon driven chat application that can support 1000's of users.

I like FlashChat I even bought a updated version then what comes with ae. I'm getting ready to buy some webcam addons for it. And run flash comm server to stream the video and aduio. I think it will do nice for a dating site. The users can make there own rooms on the fly. I can post a link to the webcam addons if anyone wants to see them. There not my addons there a 3rd party website.

Do you mean the add-on for FlashChat by Virtual Jam?

If so, did Virtual Jam fix the problem where video chat was not private - and all users in chat could see everyones video stream?

Yes it's the Virtual Jam plugin. I never heard about the issues your talking about. I just started looking into them about 2 months ago. I did a test on one last week there was 4 cams going I could see all of them fine. We even went private 1 on 1 fine. Maybe they fixed the problems.

    Default Flash Video Chat

    http://camdate.biz/camdate-pricing.html

The above URL offers a flat rate for a php script to allow video chat room, we tested out on one of thier test servers that was working..lol and seem to work pretty good.

Will keep you posted if we buy it /install

I personally like echat at http://www.e-scripts.com. Alot of my users love the simple interface and it is very user friendly, easy to install & can be played about with as in design etc... framefree modes, 3 frames, 4 frames 5 frames you name it.

I have already got a mod to incorperate these chat rooms and it works just great ;0)

I looked at e-chat, and it would not meet the needs of many users without lots of mods...

no profile info, no thumbnails, no picture upload...

    Simple, but not very powerful.

    Just my opinion.

If you want something like e-chat, but free, with more power, use Vochat.

    Hi Smoge,
As a box standard chat i would agree with you. But after some coding i have managed to implement the chat room with the rest of the site, users profiles can simply be clicked on to open the page with their profile. The way we have our echat setup is almost unrecognisable compared to the standard package.

It is very basic but is designed to be a blank canvas for customisation and is a very popular format of chat for many, many users.

Do you have a mod for vochat? Was wondering if anyone had it working where i could see it?

    keep up the good work.
