Thread: Adding people to Instant Messenger

Does anyone know how to add people to the Instant Messenger within AE Dating 4.1?

Maybe I wasn't entirely clear on my previous question.
Say I am a user who has Instant Messenger/Chat capabilities on the site. How do I add that user to my list to chat with them or see who is online?

Got it working. Didn't have instant messaging turned on in admin. Thanks!

The following instructions are an overview for adding users to AE Dating Instant Messenger.

Adding members to AE Dating Instant Messenger

1. Enable Instant Messaging within Admin Panel=> Global Settings. This will turn on the Send to IM icon when you search profiles.
2. Search profiles
3. Click the Send To IM icon to add a user to your buddylist. If a user is online, a screen will pop-up telling you a user has been added. If not, a message will display, telling you that a member is not online
4. Go back to the Control Panel screen and click next to Messenger to have Instant Messenger open (if you are a paying member obviously and are using Jeff's mod). Otherwise, you will see the Instant Messenger window wherever you added it on your pages.
5. All members that you added to Instant Messenger are now visible. To switch to a different user, click the the respective tab. To remove a user, click the tab and then click the X above the vertical scrollbar.
