Hello, I was looking for an affordable A/V chat. I saw that Dolphin(AE) was promoting Ray. Here are my questions.


1. Is it any good?
2. It seems to be scripted as an embedded chat room. I do not want this. How difficult is it to make the Ray chat room float is a small 6x6 box. This would allow a member to use other parts of the site and chat at the same time.

3. It's ugly , can it be skinned?

I only have only had a short look at Ray so far... it looks like a FlashChat clone to me... perhaps based some on the Flashchat source? But maybe I am wrong?

The one thing that got my interest up about Ray was the talk about a "Ray Server" - but I don't think it is ready yet (the server). Anyone know?

With IM2YOU - we float everything on top of aedating, using layers. Our goal with IM2YOU - and with our FORUM, is to get away from running a hodgepodge of 3rd party applications for these functions - and make the site look like a integrated package.

Will IM2you come with A/V capabilities or at least the ability to capture thumbnails? Is IM2you a chatroom too? Please excuse me. I have only caught glimpses.

It's all desired - but not reality yet. It would be helpful to have more people using IM2YOU so we have some development funds and different ideas coming in from lots of people.

I like the "capture thumbnails" idea - sort of cool.

IM2YOU is currently $299, installed, and one year of support and upgrades.

As for a demosite - there are a couple of sites running it - but on June 1st, we will have a demosite up for our mods.

300? ok, so basically it's in a different league than V3, which is allot less. I don't want to be a playa hata but 300.00 puts that product at the price of allot of A/V and photo chat rooms. Please let me know what separates IM2YOU from it's competitors?

In a nutshell - the application acts as a part of your site - not an add-on. It runs as "layers" over your dating site - not as a third party application.

It may be better to wait for the demo it become public - and then you can see for your self and actually try it.

A portion of the $299 is due to the install time required to get it on your site - it takes about 2 hours or so to install... and the rest if to cover the support and updates for a year.
