Thread: Blog category check

I have noticed that if a member goes to add their first blog in version 5.4/5.5, there is no check to see if a category exists first. There should be a check to the blogcategories table and if there are no records for that user, it should display an error similar to "A category is required before you can add a blog" or create a default category. It will be very frustrating to a user to enter a long blog and then cannot post it because there was no category created first.

Has anyone fixed this?
