    Default MP3 Player Hanging

Besides the sdating error which just got fixed, the only thing I am seeing a problem with is the mp3 player as it just hangs and stays stuck in the uploading and the video recorder which just has a connectin error.

Also not sure yet but I tried one of my templates on version 5.3 and the presence, mp3 recorder and video recorder was not there anymore but this just may be a layout issue as I a, sure I will have to add the names a values to the menu design and the templates.

I actually have had the mp3 working fine. Problems are even worse when they work for some and not for others it makes it that much harder to diagnose.

Well atleast it works for someone. Do you by chance know if the mp3's are being stored in the database or in a folder? Did you have to chmode 777 a folder for it?

I dont have the time right now guys but seriously screw their mp3 player someone needs to md it and make it so the flash fetish MP3 player can be used.

This way your community members host their MP3 files in other places besides your server.

That and it is way cool it allows them to add as many songs as they want and it will auto shuffle the songs.

Well if I could actually get it to work I would se no reason to not use it. It's already built into the system, has a nifty little playlist exchange from the admin and the member and is customizable through the swf file. I just can't get the little bastard to upload anything.

lodlock you did mean your mp3 player was working didn't you??

Sure .... me thinks of what is going to happen when you get a few thousand profiles and your server is eating so much bandwidth from all the songs playing that pages become slow.... oh lets make a server farm you say .... okay thousands of dollars later that all could be saved by using the mp3 player that I showed... besides it would only be a matter of editing a few lines of code in the current player.

But back to the issue you are having check out the directory it uploads MP3's to make sure it is set to 777

Also in your PHP.ini make sure that your max upload size has been increased to something like 25MB and then restart apache as long as your at it increase your max packet size to something like 16MB.

This is why I'm trying to integrate shoutcast via my phpbb forum and flashchat.

I was trying the wrong mp3 player, though the one from admin does work as well.

Try renaming temporarily the .htaccess file located in /ray/modules/mp3/files and see if that works. Thats how I got it to play back. Also there is apparently an image missing:

    Code:
[Tue Oct 17 16:31:53 2006] [error] [client ##.##.###.##] File does not exist: /site/location/dol53/admin/images/_mray.gif, referer: http://mysite/admin/modules_ray.php

Shoutcast now thats an interesting idea, people will park on your profile page just to listen to your music.

Though tis would only be useful to the members who could afford a shoutcast account.
