Thread: Sending message!!

Today I installed Dolphin 5.3. I am not an expert, nor I have any knowledge about php and web applications, but I noticed that when I logout and then type http://somesite.com/compose.php?ID=1 when "1" is the user ID, then it sends me to page where I can send message to user with ID=1 and the thing is that I already logged out! So it would be nice if somebody can take a look at it and possibly try to fix it.

You need to turn "free mode" off. Log into admin and go to 'pricing and discounts'. At the top of the screen you should see a checkbox for "Free mode". Turn it off and try again. It should disallow message sending when not logged in.

It may be that because you have it enable for non users to send messages. try and disable that in the admin membership settings.

hmmmm. Is it possible to allow users to register for free and use the site, yet keep free mode turned off?

I want to keep my site free, but I want to entice unregistered visitors to become mebers by not having access to do thinks like send messages, etc.

Yes.

Turn off free mode.

Go to the membership levels in the admin panel

click on non-member and delete everything you don't want them to have access to.

click on standard and add everything you want them to have access to.
