    Default Error Report: Possible Bug

Dolphin Clean 6.0.3. I am getting the following in my server log:

    File does not exist: /home/troy/public_html/main/ray/modules/global/js/integration.js

It lists the client as my IP so this may be happening when I access my admin panel. Obviously ray is removed in the clean version but something looking for that file seems to remain in the code somewhere.

    Hi,

    In admin_design.inc.php

    remove line 324
    Code:
    		<script src="../ray/modules/global/js/integration.js" type="text/javascript" language="javascript"></script>
Please report back if it helps and I will apply to the CLEAN 6.0.3 Repository.

    Thanks,

Made the change. Haven't seen the error in a few hours now. It was coming up 100 times in a row constantly before.

OK. Got a few of them.

    1) If a new user creates a password that is longer than 9 characters Dolphin only records the first 9 and does not display an error message. If the user then enters their password they cannot log in.

    2) If you create a new profile field in the Profile Fields Manager the new field sets itself to mandatory weather or not you tell it to and you cannot change this.

    3) If you change the maximum length of the Password1 field in the Profile Field Manager, Dolphin will set this field to mandatory.

    4) If while #3 is a problem a user trys to change their profile settings they will get an empty errror message and not be able to change their settings. They also will not be able to change their password at all even though it now claims it is mandatory.

    5) If a user encounters #4 their profile will disappear from the members page.

    Hi,

In general - the profile fields manager has sucked - and has sucked - since it was introduced way back in 5.x something. This is also true for the join page editor.

The fix, I am sorry to say - at this time - is not to use it... it does not allow you to do anything even slightly complicated to the profile fields - with too many restrictions and editing blockouts.

The best thing to use - really - is phpMyAdmin.

I'm learning how to do that with PHP MyAdmin. I'd like to add that to the wiki too but I'm not at the level to teach others yet.

I do want you to look at #1 though and make sure I'm not mis-reporting it because if I'm not that is a huge error that should have a simple fix for the next release.

I just tested it on your clean 6.0.3 install. I created a user and used the the password 0123456789. The password field will only let you enter the first 9 characters but it does not tell you that there is a maximum of 9 characters. Unless I was looking directly at the cursor and noticed that it did not progress to that 10th character space I'd assume that my full password was entered.

Most people look at their keyboards when they type and it would seem to them very much like they just entered a 10 character password without any problem.

Simple fix. Just add a line stating there is a 9 character max.
