Thread: Picture Will NOT post as Primary

Hi, I'm trying to see if anyone has the same problem as I do, and hopefully a possible solution.

I installed 5.6 and the installation went smoothly. People uploaded their photos and so did I. THere were thumbnails coming through and then some members complained that they could not set their primary photos. I did realize that the photos first have to be approved before they are displayed. I approved all photos and went to the database to manually check to make sure they were set. They were. But those members whos pictures I approved could not set any picture as the primary or thumbnail. I was able to set a picture to my primary and it displayed but when I deleted that picture and reuploaded another picture and try to set that new picture as primary it would not take.

No I looked in the data base at the "media" and "profiles" tables. The "media" table would set the correct med_id number but what I noticed is that in the field "PrimPhoto" within the "Profiles" table, it would not get the updated med_id number that coincides with the "Media" table. I know that this is the problem because if I manually change the "PrimPhoto" number within the "Profiles" table to the same as the number in "med_id" field in the "media" table then the tumbnail shows up.

What I don't know is what php file or form is not updating the "Profiles" table in my database.

Looks like PrimPhoto stands for "Prime Photo" or The photo to represent the profile and the main photo for that profile.

The media table has files listed by med_id which is media ID. The media ID is the unique number given to each file uploaded. This Media ID is placed in the PrimPhoto field when that media file is selected to be the main photo for that profile.
