Did you check the allowed actions in your admin panel membership section for non-logged in users?

Yes under non user there is nothing selected but they can still hit the browse button and see all photos but they cannot see the profiles as this is blocked

I'd like to be able to block the browse non members completely also. I'd also like to be able to block certain items on the home page...like possibly everything bar the join and welcome panel.... at least, to see if it would work out.

You can also remove the browse function from your visitors menu in your
    menu_design_xxx.inc.php.

    Grif,
For the blocking other functions on your index menu you can change the links __TMI_Join__ / __TMI_Search__ etc to hyperlinks and redirect them to the join page.

    Peace.

    Thumbs down

Well hiding the "Browse" link is not a good option...
Is there any other way to avoid browsing profiles from non-registered users?
    Any hints?
