Thread: Optimization Pack for aeDating 4.1 IQ

Well - you may have guessed - I was waiting a bit for this to be released - and now it has been.

It would have been nice if aeDating released this as 'diff" files, so people could "patch" their files (or at least try too!) - but they did not - it's a set of replacement files (again!).

I have not yet installed/upgraded to this v4.1 (patch 1) release of aeDating - but from what they have mentioned in their post, there are some big changes.

Once again - we all need to look at - and evaluate this code - to see if it is where we should be focusing our efforts for LOADED - the purpose of all this CLEAN/SMART work.

I've just downloaded the complete IQ 4.0001 zip file from the customer area and installed it onto the respective domain. This was done as a new install, not an update.

One nice new feature is that the install program now highlights the folders and files that are not set to CHMOD 777, making it very easy to verify what needs to be changed before the install proceeds.

The install went quite smooth as far as I could tell.

I tried to access the ADMIN area through the link provided at the bottom of the final install page and got this error message:
Warning: main(../inc/header.inc.php): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /direct-path-to-domain/admin/index.php on line 10

Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required '../inc/header.inc.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/lib/php') in /direct-path-to-domain/admin/index.php on line 10

Then I tried to access the main index.php page and got this message:
"It seems to be script is not installed."

I discovered that the INC folder needs to be at 777 in order for those areas to work properly (it was set at 644 and 666 but did not work when I tested it).
