Thread: error when uploading photos

This can be caused by several things... but normally it is the 30 second time out which is the standard setting in php.ini.

There is also a file size limit - it can be 2MB - which could also be causing the incomplete upload. You could increase this to 8MB if you wish (if already not set for this value).

Now - you could increase the 30 second timeout - to 60 seconds, and see if that helps.

Now - assuming that most users are not using dialup - but using broadband - this may simply be an indication that your server is "slow" to your users - you may wish to re-locate to a host closer to your target users. If this is not possible - then all you can do is increase the timeouts/upload size, and hope for the best.

Another good mod would be some progress indicator or somthing - so people would know their upload progress - and not get tired, and stop the page, or hit the back button, after only waiting shortly.

Or, you could add a message that askes your users to be patient (You may need to wait up to 1 minute) on the photo update page.
