Thread: compose message notify

Once in a while, members get this _compose_message_notify as the only text in the messsge from other members.
Any ideas why?

No - I don't.... can you reproduce this at all?

Does the message contain any other elements, such as the "Dear" at the top, or the footer?

Well - I see in the code where this string is used... compose.php, line 541.

Are you sending your messages your users send to both their inbox and to the email?

That is, does this show up in the inbox in aeDating, or in an email message sent by the compose page?

If you mean. if the users can see and choose between those 2 options..then yes, they can see it and choose from it.

Can you turn off the inbox notify in your header.inc.php, and see if the problem goes away.

$en_inbox_notify = 0;

While I can fix this bug if really needed - it is sort of a mistake to send the contents of the message to the users email (unless you have some reason for doing this), as it means, people don't need to come to your site to do something, and this makes your online user activity lower, and reduces traffic on your site (when, traffic is a good thing).

I really recommend this option is turned off.

You are abselutly right about the mail sent to the private email - shouldn't be appening

I have checked it and it looks like it stoped sending this text in the mails BUT...
Now there are no options for the members when the send the mail (whice is good with me), but when a member get the mail to his private mail, it is with the hole message in it!!! instead of just "you have a mail and come to my site to read it" stuff

Something is screwy.... did you make any changes (add other mods or something) to this portion of aeDating?

First, the original bug you reported, I have not heard of or seen elsewhere...

And second, setting $en_inbox_notify = 0 should not send the message inside the email.

Do you think it is worthwhile to replace these files with original v4.02 or CLEAN files, and see if these problems "normalize"?
