however when i compare databases I get :
Warning: mysql_pconnect() [function.mysql-pconnect]: Access denied for user 'nobody'@'localhost' (using password: NO) in /home/*****/public_html/admin/modules.php on line 291

Warning: mysql_error(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL-Link resource in /home/*****/public_html/admin/modules.php on line 294
    Module error: ModuleCompareDatabases error: mysql_pconnect

going to go and have a look at the files and see what I can see...
Dont change the settings in the module of Dolphin and phpbb share the same databse.

    I made the same mistake

Is there no way that you can fully integrate phpbb into the dolphin site. and for instance change the authentication settings so that it just uses the information from the dolphin's user table in the database the same way as orca does. So for instance if you login to the dolphin site then click forum you don't have to re-login to the phpbb forum. Because this is quite stupid.
Also is there no way, like orca that you can have it so the forum appears in a similar fashion to orca. What i mean by this is, you have the category's and the forums within the dolphin site. So you end up with the same dolphin template around the phpbb forum.
I wish that orca was better written as there appear to be so many flaws with it. This is why i wanted to use phpbb but unfortunatly it just wont integrate enough for my liking.

Yes - it can be done - we do it all the time - but we don't have this released as a downloadable modification - as each version of Dolphin, and each site modifications are different - so we do it as a custom modification.

Yes - we do this also - the selected forum application (phbpp in this case) runs inside the template.

Yes - many people have problems with ORCA, it is why we have "CLEAN", with RAY and ORCA removed - and then add in the forum of choice (including Group support if desired).

Time to revive a dead thread. Sorry.

Followed the directions verbatim from here

I am using v. 6.1.5 by the way for Dolphin and 3.04 for Phpbb.

I am getting the compare error which states:

List of profiles not included into module database:
ID Password Email Email of nickname owner Status
    [1] [Maxwell] [removed@gmail.com] [] Active
Comparison completed. There have been found profiles that are not in phpBB users table.

The file I used was the one included in the dolphin 6.1.5 full install package.

Any ideas? I really can't pay for site support, installation or otherwise. I know this can be fixed by hiring you guys or paying for one of the many mods out there, but unemployed + a car repair emergency superscedes paying at this time.

    Default Any changes

I've got a working phpBB forum, but not integrated (security or anything).
Also unable to locate the disable_board_reg.mod which was linked off of here, as it is no longer a valid url.

And yes, I created a phpbb.aemod file, which works and returns:
Comparison completed. There have been found profiles that are not in phpBB users table.

    1. I've modified my navigation, so I can get into the forum.
    2. I can login as admin and have verified forum fully works

Still have two things to fix:
    a. No accounts are synching, no accounts are creating (when new users add)
    b. Integration into site look/feel (header/footer).

    Red face phpbb.aemod ?

    Hi All,

I've just downloaded and installed the latest version of Dolphin 6.1.6
this went very well no problems or what ever.
I also have downloaded and installed the latest version of phpbb 3.0.5 installed in the forum folder within the dolfin structure.
As you can imagine I want to integrate the forum in the dolphin site.
But after spending allot of hours searching the internet and several forums i cannot get 1 thing that is mentioned every where the: phpbb.aemod ?

Where can i find this thing because it was not in the downloaded pack from boonex version 6.1.6 ?

Many thanks for the file Smoge.

I downloaded it and unzipped it with winrar but the file inside is totally unreadable. I'v tried to upload it via modules in the zip version then the module mananger says the module is uploaded but nothing changes there are no new modules available. Also tried to upload the unzipped file but that gave an Mysql error. Also putting the file in to /modules folder on my site resultated in nothing.

I tried to find answers on module installations on Boonex but they have already the Dolphin 7 description on there wiki ? There's nothing to find about Dolphin 6.x

I don't mind spending time to read and learn with trial and error but there's almost no info on the official boonex site.
And i don't mind spending alot of time reading forums but the posts regarding Dolphin are almost 2 years old.

Any ideas on how to get some info regarding the module installation?
Also people constantly talk about phpbb.aemod.php or something like that can you explaine to me how i can get this ? or is this one of Dolphin's greatest secrets?

I hope you can help me with some answers, cause i posted the same question on Boonex Unity, but all i got there where a couple of marriage proposals (spam).

    best regards,
    Richard

I downloaded it from the site - and unzipped it - the zip file and it's contents are valid.

The files contained are mysql insert statements.

As for the mysql error - load it using phpMyAdmin (SQL box) and see what it is... the error will tell a lot as to the problem you are having.

    phpbb.aemod

also - note - phpbb.aemod is for phpbb2, not phpbb3 - if you want to use that, changes will need to be made.

also - kicking around all over the place (on ModMySite I think, and Expertzzz) is modules for phpbb2 (and 3) - but in general - they all need tweaking to work - the phpBB integration has been a hassle for a long time (for non-coders) and the offical boonex files have been neglected by Boonex for a long time due, perhaps, for their desire you use Orca.

    Warm regards,
