    Default Call me stupid...

I wasn't sure of where to post this...there are so many phpBB threads but I couldn't find anybody having the same issue I'm having.

I've gotten through the initial phpBB installation and integration...user registration in dolphin creates the associated user in phpBB...but I had to test that by calling the module directly in the URL... (http://gofishingforlove.amordad-tec....duleType=forum) there is no link to the forum anywhere - in any menu - that I can find.

I've seen a couple posts saying it 'should' appear automagically once the module is enabled...but it doesn't, even though it appears to be enabled in the Member Menu page...what am I missing? (yes, I'm completely new with this software)

    Thanks in advance

Amordad what version of which dating software are you using? What version of phpBB?

I came across this problem a few days ago on GPLdate rev127 (based on Dolphin 5.3). After I installed phpBB2 there was not a link to the Forum anywhere. But when I installed the module, the link to the Forum appeared in the Member Control Panel menu. That's the only place where it appears. I used the Pioneer template, not sure if it is the same in all other templates.

Go to your admin control panel, click "manage modules" and make sure the phpbb module is listed.

    Sorry....I should have provided that...

I'm using Dolphin v5.5 and phpBB 2.0.22. I'm confident the module is installed correctly - no errors when I do the 'compare' and all members of the original site are now also members in phpBB - including newly created members.

I'm wanting to think that I have correctly enabled the module for members...(first time at this...I could be wrong) I clicked the 'member menu' link in the 'mods admin' (using default template) where I see Forum is an option and should be visible to members:

    Forum aemodule.php?ModuleType=forum member

I just figured I'm missing something and it has to be enabled somewhere else....I tried all of the standard templates but to no avail.

I've also looked in the database, in the MemberMenu table to see the Forum entry and that it's display is dependent up a variable: $aGlobalVars['enable_forum'] ...which I guess I'll go looking for while hoping somebody can tell me the obvious thing I've missed...

It seems that versions 5.5 and GPLdate (5.3) work differently in this respect. In 5.3 there is no option to control the member menu, but if you say it is enabled there, then I guess that should be ok ... Also I do not even have a MemberMenu table.

I'm pretty sure in my version the Forum menu item is controlled purely in the templates.

Sorry, wish I could have helped more.

Thanks though...I just learned that the site I am trying to help work through a forum installation is actually running 5.4 ....I wonder if I'll have the same problem with that version...
